Curriculum Vitae

For over three decades, Dr. Maas has dedicated his career to elevating the art and science of facial plastic surgery.

He received his B.S. in Biology at Florida State University and his M.D. with Honors at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He continued his postgraduate studies with a General Surgery Internship and a Residency in Otolaryngology-Head Neck Surgery at the St. Louis University Medical Center, followed by a Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

Dr. Maas is dual board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Upon the completion of his Fellowship, Dr. Maas was appointed Chief of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCSF. He served in this role for more than 11 years before leaving the full-time faculty at UCSF to enter private practice.

Today, Dr. Maas is the founder and director of The Maas Clinic and The Appearance Care Center. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor at UCSF and a fellowship director for the Educational and Research Foundation for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).
